Invincible season 3 is on the way, and here are 10 new characters from the Invincible comics that could appear in the upcoming batch of episodes. Amazon Prime Video’s Invincible has introduced all kinds of beloved characters throughout its two seasons on the air, but it has still barely scratched the surface of the comic series, with all kinds of iconic superheroes and supervillains not having made their animation debut yet. Invincible season 3 is set to introduce all kinds of new characters to the TV series, and here are the 10 most likely ones who could appear.
Invincible season 2, part 2 is finally here, with the highly anticipated continuation of Amazon Prime Video’s critically acclaimed animated adaptation of the superhero comic series of the same name now released in full on the streaming platform. Invincible season 2 ended in a shocking way, with Mark Grayson finally confronting Angstrom Levy and defeating him. However, this is far from the end of Mark’s story, as Invincible season 3 has all kinds of wild storylines in store, such as the return of Angstrom Levy, the Invincible War, and the arrival of more Viltrumites to Earth.
One of the most exciting potential characters in Invincible season 3 is the Viltrumite Conquest. Invincible season 2 already introduced several new Viltrumites, such as Anissa, Thadeus, Oliver, and a handful of others, but none of them are nearly as terrifying as Conquest. Conquest is a Viltrumite far stronger than anyone that Mark has faced before, and he will surely have some major consequences on the world of the TV show.
In the Invincible comics, Conquest shows up in the wake of the Invincible War, challenging Mark Grayson as he is cleaning up the disastrous results of his fight with the alternate dimension versions of himself. Conquest and Invincible launch into an epic battle that has them flying across the globe, at such high speeds that the other superheroes can’t even help. This first battle with Conquest is truly epic, and it will probably end up being the Invincible season 3 finale.
Conquest isn’t the only deadly Viltrumite that could appear in Invincible season 3, as another potential new character in the upcoming batch of episodes is Thragg. Grand Regent Thragg acts as Invincible‘s main overarching villain, with him being the head of the Viltrum Empire. Thragg earned this title by being the strongest of the Viltrumites, with him being a terrifying force to be reckoned with.
Thragg makes his first appearance in the Invincible comics shortly after the arrival of Conquest, with him discussing the failures of Conquest and the other Viltrumites in stopping Invincible. Although this is only a tease of Thragg, with him not having a real impact on the story until the Viltrumite War, it would be a perfect way to end Invincible season 3 and tease season 4.
Although Oliver Grayson was introduced in Invincible season 2, he is barely a character, with him acting more like a plot device that Mark constantly has to save throughout the show. However, this is far from the extent of who Oliver truly is, as Invincible season 3 will see him grow a little older, become a superhero, and take up the mantle of Kid Omni-Man.
In the comics, Oliver gets his powers shortly after the Sequids are defeated by Invincible, with him deciding that he wants to become a superhero like his father and brother. Oliver and Mark go to Art and have a suit made for Oliver, with him taking up the name of Kid Omni-Man. From this point on, Oliver is a main character, with him starting out as Invincible’s sidekick before becoming a superhero of his own.
Powerplex is a unique villain in Invincible’s rogues’ gallery, as he is really only an antagonist to Mark Grayson, with him otherwise being a superhero. Powerplex is a character who has the ability to absorb and reuse the energy of others, with him holding a grudge against Invincible due to his sister being killed during Invincible and Omni-Man’s battle in Chicago. Thus, Powerplex stages a kidnapping of his wife and child in an attempt to get close to Invincible, with Powerplex planning on killing him.
However, things go horribly wrong, with Powerplex accidentally killing his wife and child. This causes Powerplex to hate Invincible even more, with him flying into a blind rage anytime they cross. The attempts to rehabilitate Powerplex are incredibly interesting, and it will be fun to finally see this arc in Invincible season 3.
Multi-Paul is another fun villain who will appear in Invincible season 3, with this being set up by the death of Dupli-Kate in Invincible season 2, episode 5. In the comics, Multi-Paul is the villainous brother of Dupli-Kate, with the two having the same powers. After Kate’s death, Paul appears and attempts to fight the Guardians of the Globe, seeking revenge for his fallen sibling.
Paul is a pretty tough threat to deal with due to him having help from some other villains, with him only being stopped by the return of Dupli-Kate. Kate reemerges and reveals that she actually survived the battle with the Lizard League by hiding a clone somewhere far away, with her only coming out of hiding in order to stop her brother. Paul’s story mostly ends there, although he does have a big influence on the Titan storyline.
Kid Thor is an interesting Invincible character, as he actually got his start as part of the Capes comics. It initially seemed like no crossover characters from other Image Comics properties would appear in Invincible, with several of them being replaced throughout the first two seasons. However, a future version of Kid Thor appeared in Invincible season 2’s future Guardians of the Globe team, meaning that he will have to appear in the main timeline soon.
Kid Thor shares many of his powers with his Marvel Comics counterpart, with him being important in later Invincible stories. Kid Thor’s first big role in the Invincible comics takes place during the Invincible War storyline, and since this is expected to occur in season 3, it seems likely that Kid Thor will make his true TV debut soon.
Tech Jacket is another incredibly popular Image Comics superhero, with him essentially being the company’s version of Iron Man mixed with Spider-Man. The young armored hero has plenty of his own stories that could act as their own Invincible spin-off, but he also plays a major role in the Invincible storyline, with him having a hand in defeating the Viltrumites during the war against the Viltrum Empire.
Due to Tech Jacket being one of Earth’s strongest superheroes, Thadeus sends Allen the Alien and Omni-Man to recruit him as part of their Viltrumite War team. Invincible season 2 ends with Omni-Man and Allen the Alien in prison, teasing their breakout and intergalactic quest for Viltrumtie weaknesses in season 3. Thus, it is likely that they will meet Tech Jacket in season 3, adding him to the ranks of the Coalition of Planets.
Wolf-Man is another Image Comics superhero that will play a big role in Invincible season 3, with him having a hand in the conflict between Mark Grayson and Cecil. Wolf-Man is a character that has headlined his own Image Comics run, and while he is more famous for his own stories, he does play a part in a major Invincible arc.
In the comics, Cecil sends several superheroes on the hunt for Wolf-Man, explaining that he is dangerous and needs to be apprehended. Mark knows that Wolf-Man is a superhero, with him believing that Cecil’s vendetta against Wolf-Man is hypocritical in the face of his working with reformed villains like D.A. Sinclair and Darkwing. Thus, Mark Grayson helps Wolf-Man escape and refuses to do Cecil’s bidding, with this eventually ending in Mark leaving the Global Defense Agency.
Much like some of the other entries on this list, Brit is another Image Comics Invincible crossover character, with the introduction of Kid Thor setting the stage for his TV show debut. Of all of the Invincible crossover characters, Brit is the most significant, with him appearing in all kinds of Invincible arcs. The immortal soldier is often seen working alongside Cecil, with him having a major influence on several storylines.
