The Oyo state government, Sunday, said the abducted cleric with The Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Olugbenga Olawore, has regained his freedom.
The state Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, who stated this, said the abducted RCCG pastor was rescued by the security operatives in the state.
Prince Oyelade added that the people of the state should be rest assured that security operatives in and across the state are fully alive and alert to their responsibilities.
“Our people should be rest assured that our security apparatus in the state are fully alive and alert to their responsibilities,” adding that the “state government is monitoring and gauging the security situations within its boundary efficiently,” he said.
Prince Oyelade added, “Since the incident was reported, government has been in close contact with the state Commissioner of Police, Compol Bola Hamzat, his team and our own security teams and all parties have done the needful as usual to ensure the safety of lives and properties of our citizens.”
It will be recalled that the RCCG Pastor and other passengers in a 14-seater commercial bus were Thursday abducted by suspected kidnappers while traveling to Lagos along the Maya axis of Lanlate-Eruwa road in Ipapo area of Oyo state at about 5pm.
The abductors were said to be demanding N10 million as ransom before releasing the abducted persons.
