The Adamawa Police Command has stated that it is poised to arrest an 18-year-old suspect for stabbing his friend to death during a dispute.
This was made known in a statement shared on the command’s X account on Sunday.
According to the command, both individuals were rushed to the hospital after a knife fight, where one was pronounced dead.
The statement read, “An impatient attitude is regrettable.
“Usman Umar, 18 years old, is currently admitted to one of our hospitals, receiving treatment, feeling pains with severe injuries on his head.
“Yet, police detectives are standing by to arrest him for the offence of culpable homicide by stabbing and killing his friend Usman Abubakar, 18 years old, who is now in the mortuary due to a minor argument.
“Stop fighting amongst yourselves and be patient.”
The command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, added that the command is investigating the incident and more details would be provided.
He wrote, “The two actively engaged in a fierce fight using knives attacking themselves. Police arrived and rushed both to the hospital where one was confirmed dead.
“The command is investigating, more details soon.”
