All American: Homecoming season 3 will continue the story of the students at distinguished Atlanta HBCU Bringston University. The show follows Simone Hicks (Geffri Maya) from All American moving over to the spinoff to continue her story in college. The show had a backdoor pilot in All American season 3, and Homecoming took place a little in the future of the original series with a brand-new cast surrounding Hicks’ sole actor transferring to the new show. After a well-received first and second season, viewers are now looking ahead to see what All American: Homecoming season 3 has in store.
Since All American: Homecoming premiered, it has remained one of the more successful shows on The CW and is one of only four shows that the network kept of its original fiction lineup, along with the original All American, the DC series Superman & Lois, and Walker starring former Supernatural star Jared Padalecki. However, while the show ended up moving on with a new season, All American: Homecoming season 3 will undergo some major changes, including losing one of its main cast members as The CW sets out to cut the budget of its various fictional series.

Following a major shakeup in the cast in late 2023, the most recent news concerning the spinoff comes as a story tease for All American: Homecoming season 3. Coming straight from showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll, the tease aims to quell rumors about who Simone will choose in her love triangle after casting changes seemed to reveal who she picked. Lando Johnson (Martin Bobb-Semple) was promoted to series regular status, while Damon Sims (Peyton Alex Smith) was knocked down to recurring status.
Carroll was quick to stress that casting changes don’t necessarily indicate which way Simone will sway, and that the story will need to play out before fans can be sure. “Simone will continue to struggle with the messiness of her love life. That is a promise,” said Carroll, indicating things are only getting started for Simone.

The CW announced the All American: Homecoming season 3 renewal in June 2023. The new season was picked up for 13 episodes and was one of four legacy shows picked up at the same time, along with Superman & Lois, Walker, and the original All American.
The All American: Homecoming season 3 release date was originally scheduled for October 2023, but the industry-wide shutdowns caused by the Hollywood strikes forced the date to be moved. Now, with the strikes in the rearview mirror, Homecoming season 3 has yet to set a new release date but is slated to arrive in summer 2024, after All American season 6 has concluded.
There are some major changes to the All American: Homecoming season 3 cast, with two actors being demoted from their spots as series regulars. Peyton Alex Smith and Kelly Jenrette will play diminished roles in the upcoming season, but they will still appear. Smith plays Damon Sims, one of the original main characters in the show, while Jenrette plays Amara Patterson, the president of Bringston University. The changes were reportedly due to budget cuts, and no further changes have been announced.
The current expected All American: Homecoming season 3 cast is as follows:
The second season of All American: Homecoming continued to tell the story of students and athletes attending a distinguished HBCU. Though demotions and changes happened within the cast, the love triangle between Simone, Lando, and Damon is still very much on the table. Simone will continue to struggle to balance her personal life with her challenging studies, and season 3 might see her begin to make more permanent choices. However, until more details are made available, the plot of All American: Homecoming season 3 is purely speculation.
