American Idol Season 22: What Did The Top 24 Contestants Sing In Hawaii & Who Were Their Mentors? (SPOILERS)

WARNING! This article contains spoilers for American Idol season 22!

American Idol season 22 headed to Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa in Hawaii for the Top 24 contestants’ performances, with music superstars Tori Kelly and Jelly Roll as the round’s mentors. American Idol season 22 features host Ryan Seacrest, along with judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan. The auditions took place in the judges’ hometowns of Tuskegee, Alabama (Lionel), Santa Barbara, California (Katy), and Leesburg, Georgia (Luke), as well as Los Angeles, California and Nashville, Tennessee.

The American Idol season 22 judges gave out 140 golden tickets and three platinum tickets to Abi Carter, Julia Gagnon, and Odell Bunton Jr. During the Hollywood Week Idol Arena round, 56 contestants made it through to the Showstoppers round, while 87 were sent home in the biggest cut in American Idol history. From those 56 contestants, the judges chose the Top 24 finalists during the Final Judgment. Here’s what each of the American Idol season 22 Top 24 contestants sang during the Hawaii round, and which of the mentors guided them through it, according to The Idol Pad.

Music supersar Tori mentored 12 of the American Idol season 22 finalists as they prepared for their Hawaii round performances. They were Abi Carter (“Wherever You Would Call Me” by Zaini), Blake Proehl (“Anyone” by Justin Bieber), Hailey Mia (“Sheโ€™s All I Wanna Be” by Tate McRae), Jayna Elise (“Confident” by Demi Lovato), Jordan Anthony (“Titanium” by David Guetta & Sia), and Julia Gagnon (“Rumour Has It” by Adele).

In addition, Tori mentored K.B. Richins (“Heaven” by Bryan Adams), Kayko (“How To Live Without You,” an original song, while playing the keyboard), McKenna Breinholt (“The Story” by Brandi Carlile, while playing the guitar), Nya (“(Simply) The Best” by Bonnie Tyler/Tina Turner), Quintavious (“Something In The Water” by Carrie Underwood), and Will Moseley (“(Sittinโ€™ On) The Dock Of The Bay” by Otis Redding, while playing the guitar).

Country music superstar Jelly Roll mentored 12 of the American Idol season 22 finalists before their Hawaii round performances. They included Ajii (“Higher” by Tems), Elleigh Francom (“Forget You!” by Cee-Lo Green), Emmy Russell (“Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone), Jack Blocker (“Rainbow” by Kacey Musgraves, while playing the guitar), Jennifer Jeffries (“Bruises” by Lewis Capaldi, while playing the guitar), and Kennedy Reid (“Fancy” by Bobbie Gentry/Reba McEntire).

In addition, Jelly Roll mentored Mackenzie Sol (“Jealous” by Nick Jonas), Mia Makana Matthews (“Daddyโ€™s Hands” by Holly Dunn), Odell Bunton Jr. (“Uptown Funk!” by Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars), KBlocks (“Harleys In Hawaii” by Katy Perry), Roman Collins (“How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)” by Marvin Gaye/James Taylor), and Triston Harper (“Godโ€™s Country” by Blake Shelton).

The American Idol season 22 judges, Lionel, Katy, and Luke, have done a wonderful job of finding some of the best undiscovered singers. The auditions and Hollywood Week were spectacular, and this is one of the best groups of Top 24 finalists in the history of the reality singing competition show. The American Idol season 22 Hawaii round at Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa is certain to be one of the best yet.
