Another Nigerian set to join Stanley Nwabli at Chippa United

Super Eagles and Kano Pillars left-back, Sani Faisal, is set to join South African Premier Soccer League club, Chippa United, at the end of the season, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 27-year-old versatile defender can also play as a defensive midfielder, a wing-back and as a central defender in the heart of the defence.

As per Snl 24, Faisalโ€™s move to Chippa United is as good as done. As soon as the NPFL 2023/2024 comes to a close, the defender will become club teammates with Nigeriaโ€™s number one goalie, Stanley Nwabali. Daniel Akpeyi, James Okwuosa and Augustine Kwem are other Nigerian footballers to have featured for the Chilli Boys in the past.

โ€œFaisal Sani is close to concluding a deal with Chippa United. He is more than likely to play in South Africa next season. He is a good defender, but a move to Chippa has been agreed in principle from him,โ€ the report read.

Nwabali on the other hand, has been identified as a primary target for two South African sides, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, while Victor Bonifaceโ€™s former team, Union Saint-Gilloise are also keen on his services.

Sani has two Nigeria caps under his belt. He made his Super Eagles debut in Nigeriaโ€™s 2-1 loss to Mexico in May 2022, coming on at the start of the second half to play as a defensive midfielder. He featured in the teamโ€™s 1-0 loss to Ecuador a week later, starting the game on the left wing.
