Drama As FG Declares Another Public Holiday

The Federal Government has made a swift adjustment and announced an additional public holiday on for Nigerians following a new disclosure.

The Federal Government in addition to the two days announced earlier, has declared Thursday, April 11, 2024, as another public holiday to observe Eid-el-Fitr.

In a statement released by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, shared on the ministryโ€™s official platform on Tuesday, it was stated, โ€œThe Federal Government has approved Thursday, April 11, 2024, as an additional public holiday to celebrate this yearโ€™s Eid-el-Fitr.โ€

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, conveyed congratulations to the Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of the month of Ramadan, emphasizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubuโ€™s unwavering dedication to ensuring a secure and prosperous Nigeria.

Saudi Arabia declared on Monday that the crescent of Shawwal had not been sighted, indicating the continuation of fasting on Tuesday. Eid-el-Fitr would subsequently be observed on Wednesday, April 10, marking the commencement of the new Islamic month.

Earlier, the Federal Government had declared Tuesday and Wednesday, April 9 and 10, 2024, as public holidays to commemorate the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
