A 7-Star Tera Raid Battle for Meganium is an exclusive online event in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Continuing the trend of different Tera-type starter Pokémon, Meganium goes from Grass-type to Psychic-type, giving it many new strategies to take you down. One might consider participating with friends, but completing this event by yourself is easy and should take no time.
The Tera Raid is known as Meganium the Unrivaled, and by tackling this event solo or with friends, you will earn the Mightiest Mark on the Meganium you catch, like in past events held in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It should be prepared with the correct Pokémon and understand how it will attack you during the raid for the best chances of completion and capture.
Players must go through the Academy Ace Tournament to access 7-Star Tera Raid Battle events in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This will unlock a storyline involving Jacq where he will ask you to investigate harder 5-Star Tera Raids by participating and winning them.
After 15 of these 5-Star Raids, Jacq will tell you about the 6-Star Raid phenomenon around the Paldea region. Along with the 6-Star Raids, 7-Star Raids have been unlocked but are only given through special events such as the Meganium 7-Star Tera Raid Battle and many other past starter Pokémon events.
You must connect to the internet to find the 7-Star Meganium Tera Raid on the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet map. You also do not need Nintendo Online for this feature. Simply open up the news from the Poké Portal, and it will change the Tera Raids on the map. Then, open it with the Y button to find it directly on the map.
Since it is a Psychic tera-type raid, look for a Psychic symbol in the shape of a hexagon. Typically, this symbol will be dark pink. However, for this raid, look for a black shining hexagon around the map with a smaller one inside.
Meganium in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is meant to tank hard hits. It was given bulky defensive stats, a type with a few resistances and status moves that prevent special and physical attacks from dealing serious damage. This makes it hard to get this Tera Raid done fast, and patience while fighting it is critical.
Before the battle begins, Meganium will set up Light Screen and Reflect. This will protect it for five turns, halving the damage done to it. The best Pokémon to use for the Meganium 7-Star Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet counter its weaknesses. Since Meganium is not its usual type during this raid, consider its original Grass-type same-type attack bonus moves while noting its Psychic Tera Type.
This is because of solid moves that have 1.5x the power of Pokémon types. Bringing a Poison- or Ground-type Pokémon is not recommended because the more your Pokémon faints, the less time you will have to complete the raid. Alternatively, Pokémon, like the best Skeledirge builds and Malamar builds, are excellent choices for soloing this Tera Raid due to their Ghost- or Dark-typing.
This Meganium event can be repeated repeatedly in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. However, remember that only one Meganium can be caught per account.
