Today's Connections Hints & Answers For April 8, 2024 (Puzzle #301)

It’s Monday Connections time and the April 8 categories might mess up a few long-standing win streaks out there. There is a great mix of topics in today’s words with a few in there ready to trick you into wasting an attempt or two.

One of the best ways to avoid a loss in Connections is to take your time. There is no timer in this game and double-checking your work could save you a few wasted attempts. Making sure the words actually line up together is a great way to score a flawless victory for the day.

Before we just go ahead and spoil today’s answers, we’ve got a few hints to help out those who may just need a little push in the right direction. Here are today’s Connections categories.

Yellow was the second category for us to solve today and wasn’t too difficult to grab ahold of. DRIVE and DESIRE were the original catalysts, followed by the other two, RESOLVE and WILL. We did end up wasting an attempt on a car category that didn’t exist by trying to fit ARRAY and BATTERY in with DRIVE. After our mistake, we quickly changed gears, see what I did there, and scored the win.

Green was the easiest category for us today as HAT, SHORTS, and SUNGLASSES all caught our eye quite quickly. After double-checking that there wasn’t some sort of golf category we scored TEE along with the other words. An easy start to the day.

We have quite a lot of collections here so this wasn’t too difficult to notice. We have a SERIES of horror movie-themed Funko Pops and a coveted SET of 1992 Marvel Universe trading cards. We own an ARRAY of modern board games, including Gloomhaven, Viticulture, and my favorite solo game Escape The Dark Castle. We even have a BATTERY of batteries in a junk drawer near the sink. Wow, seeing that stuff all together there really has me rethinking my choices in life. I’m 43 years old…

Purple had our leftover words for today and only after the reveal did we notice the connection. It’s not that it was an overly difficult category, it just didn’t click. As always though, we didn’t need to figure out all four categories to win, just the first three. POWER and SHOE are the obvious starters here and the other two aren’t far off from there.

Before you run off to Facebook Marketplace to find all the collections we’re selling to combat the childish consumerism of our adulthood. Check out these other browser-based games that refresh once a day just like Connections. From the classic Wordle to the ridiculous Absurdle, there’s something for everyone out there.

Has anyone made a game called Birdle where you can guess different types of birds? Or maybe Turdle where you… no, nevermind.
