The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has emphasized the importance of Nigerians sharing credible information with the police for an effective policing system in the country.
In a video posted on the Nigeria Police Force’s X account on Friday, Adejobi stressed the significance of community policing and the involvement of every Nigerian in the policing structure.
He said in part: “The concept of county policing is key, crucial to modern policing strategies.
“We can’t shy away from this, and we cannot do without incorporating every Nigerian into policing structure in this country.
“That is why we say you need to share with us credible information. That’s what we call intelligence.
“If at all we want to have a very effective policing system in Nigeria, we need to actually rely and leverage on intelligence-based policing strategies in this country. We can’t do it without you.
“Every Nigerian, every individual has a role to play.
“And that is why we always say, ‘when you see something, you say something’.”
