A young Nigerian woman, Oyinlola Saakirat Olamide, has emerged the best footballer in Europe following her specular performance at the just concluded U19 SWIT Cup.
Oyinlola, a Naija Ratels FC defender who left Nigeria in September 2023 to join La Liga, captained his side, scored and gave assists to reach the semi-final stage of the European youth competition.
The all-round player first cut the eyes when she featured at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in 2022 when Nigeria won first ever bronze at the global tournament.
Alongside her Nigerian teammate, Miracle Usani, the 18-year-old Oyinlola will later this year sign a professional contract in Europe.
