Wigwe: Ogunbajo’s family sues company over helicopter crash Published By: Paul Dada

The family of former Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), late Abimbola Ogunbanjo who alongside five others, died in a crash in February, has sued a US charter company for  negligence.

Ogunbanjo  alongside his friend, former CEO of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe and the latter’s wife and son died when the helicopter hired from Orbic Air  went down near the California-Nevada border.

According to the Ogunbanjo, it was wrong for the company to have flown  it in hazardous weather conditions.

“Helicopters do not do very well in snow and ice ..This flight was entirely preventable, and we don’t know why they took off”, one of the attorneys who filed the lawsuit, Andrew C. Robb.

Listed as defendants in the  suit are  Orbic Air and  its CEO, Brady Bowers.

Meanwhile, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is still investigating the cause of the crash.
