90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Jasmine Pineda is launching a brand-new career after coming to the U.S. Jasmine got married to Gino Palazzolo from Michigan on 90 Day Fiancé season 10. Jasmine and Gino’s June 2023 wedding was straight out of a fairytale, but married life became a nightmare for the Panamanian woman. Jasmine found out her sons JC and Juance were going to take over two years to move to America because Gino made a mistake while filling up her K-1 visa application. The stress aggravated Jasmine’s alopecia condition and gave her bald spots.
Jasmine already had insecurities about her body that had led to her getting breast augmentation surgery and blepharoplasty to get rid of her hooded eyes. However, Jasmine still didn’t feel confident in her body. Despite her being a fashionista and a bold personality on TV, Jasmine struggled with body issues as revealed in Happily Ever After?Jasmine’s hair loss added to her worries. Eventually, Jasmine found a remedy to her low self-confidence, and she also decided to make a career out of it, so she could earn a living in the U.S. after getting married.
Jasmine was working as an American literature teacher in Panama when she met Gino. Jasmine claimed to have been earning $3000 a month. Fans had refused to believe Jasmine was earning this kind of salary as a teacher. However, Jasmine later revealed she had two full-time jobs and tutoring classes. Jasmine charged 35–40 dollars an hour. As per Jasmine, her students’ parents were more than happy to pay the fees. She provided tutoring for a minimum of two hours every week. Unfortunately, Jasmine was fired from her workplace before she moved to the U.S.
Gino had sent Jasmine’s private topless pics to his ex-girlfriend, who allegedly sent them to the school Jasmine taught at. Jasmine said she took to adult modeling as a career in order to put food on the table. Jasmine had thanked the fans who sent her Cameo requests. She was using the money to buy school supplies for her two sons. Jasmine said that while some people looked at OnlyFans as a degrading job, it was helping her make an income and keeping her motivated to workout because she had to “maintain a figure.”
In March 2022, Jasmine said she had “5 university titles” and was “about to get a PhD.” She said that her life had surprised her in a way that she had to “reinvent” herself because she had people who depended on her. A year later, Jasmine revealed she was “Dr. Jasmine Pineda.” She wrote she had a doctoral degree in education and research. She also added that she has a B.A. in English Literature. Jasmine also has a Master’s in Higher Education, Pedagogy, Educational Dynamics & Methodology. Jasmine is a Postgraduate in Diverse Education and has a Technical Degree in Accounting.
Gino confirmed Jasmine was coming to the U.S. and that he had applied for her K-1 visa during the Before the 90 Days season 5 filmed in January 2022. In April 2022, Jasmine said her K-1 visa had been preapproved. She said she planned to live in Tampa, Florida, not Michigan. Gino had told Jasmine that Florida’s weather was “more alike” to Panama. She said being a teacher in the US was not an easy job, so she was going to try to become a real estate agent. Jasmine was “tired of the stigma” of being a teacher.
Jasmine celebrated her 37th birthday in Florida. She was there to meet her friend Leandro from Panama who had now relocated to Miami. Jasmine told Gino that Leandro signed her up for a beauty pageant workshop which was taking place the day after her birthday. Jasmine had told Leandro about how the situation with her kids had affected her ambition. She had low self-esteem issues and Leandro thought the solution was for Jasmine to focus her energies on other things.
Jasmine said her alopecia had gotten worse. She didn’t feel pretty or sexy anymore. Leandro wanted the “old Jasmine” back, the one who would arrive and take on the world. Jasmine wasn’t happy, she was crying every day. When Jasmine looked into the mirror and saw herself dealing with her hair loss, she saw an “opaque being, a sad being.” Jasmine did not like what she was seeing. Leandro had a friend who worked with a beauty pageant and hosted workshops. He could already picture Jasmine as a beauty pageant queen.
Jasmine trusted Leandro’s judgment. She wanted to do something for herself to give a “boost” to her happiness and to get her confidence back. Jasmine wished to get a new “perspective” at things and feel empowered. While she was hesitant at the start, Gino also encouraged Jasmine because he thought she could easily win a beauty pageant with her top-notch personality, smartness, and fit body. Jasmine met Leandro’s friend Willina in episode 9. Jasmine was scared as she didn’t see herself as a beautiful woman, but Gino assured her she was going to “knock them dead.”
Jasmine won over the organizers along with the participants thanks to her passionate personality. The workshop was intended to help women like Jasmine with their preparation for the At Mrs. International World pageant. Jasmine was told she wasn’t “too old” to participate. She came clean about wanting to shave all her hair off. She felt bad looking at the other participants with their gorgeous hair. In turn, they asked Jasmine not to worry about it because even they were possibly wearing wigs and clip-in extensions. Jasmine learned the runway walk. She even tried on the crown.
Jasmine learned that she was not going to let her alopecia define her and not going to let her stop achieving her dreams. She was asked to focus on things she liked about her body. Willina thought that Jasmine should participate in the competition because it would be a push for her to feel better about herself. Jasmine realized how good she was at it during the workshop. She made up her mind to participate in it. Gino motivated Jasmine but also asked her if she would drop out of the pageant if she got pregnant midway.
Jasmine informed Gino she was not on the same page as him and wasn’t ready to have a baby. She said, “I don’t know” when Gino asked if she wanted a new baby at all. Jasmine’s current Instagram feed suggests she is taking her beauty pageant aspirations seriously. Jasmine has shared professional modeling photos on social media without revealing what was the purpose behind them. The 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star also praised Alejandra Marisa Rodríguez, a 60-year-old lawyer and journalist from La Plata, Argentina, who recently won the Miss Universe Buenos Aires pageant on her Stories.
