Avengers 6's Biggest Team Could Make 6 MCU Fan Theories Come True In One Move

Several theories surrounding potential cameo appearances in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars could hint at the biggest Avengers team forming in the MCU. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige first announced the development of Avengers: Secret Wars in 2022, confirming the Phase 6 crossover to be the final installment of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, scheduled for release in May 2027. The MCU’s Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to be inspired by Marvel Comics’ 1984 and 2015 Secret Wars events, both of which featured most of Marvel’s heroes and villains, while the latter dealt with incursions and the destruction of the multiverse.

Since the conclusion of the MCU’s Infinity Saga, Marvel Studios has been exploring the multiverse, and has introduced many wild concepts that are expected to prove pivotal to Avengers: Secret Wars’ storyline. Variants of many of the MCU’s most iconic heroes and villains have made appearances, branching timelines and alternate realities have been visited thanks to multiversal travel, and the concept of incursions has been witnessed, setting up the potentially-devastating events of Avengers: Secret Wars perfectly. However, this also creates the opportunity for Marvel Studios to introduce the MCU’s most powerful Avengers team ever, comprising heroes from across the multiverse.

Since Kevin Feige confirmed the development of Avengers: Secret Wars, the rumor mill has been spinning regarding which past MCU characters, and characters from other non-MCU Marvel franchises, might appear in the Phase 6 project. MCU veterans, including Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., have recently been rumored to be returning in Secret Wars, though they haven’t been confirmed, and they may be joined by a huge number of other returning Marvel heroes. This could see many MCU heroes team up with their variants, forming the biggest Avengers team yet, with many popular faces doubling-up for Secret Wars’ epic adventure.

While it’s unclear which heroes will be brought back for appearances in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Secret Wars, it’s very possible audiences could see more than one version of each hero teaming up in Phase 6. Recently, Chris Evans has been heavily rumored to be returning to the MCU as Steve Rogers’ Captain America in Secret Wars, which could see him partner up with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, the MCU’s current Captain America. Endgame previously saw Rogers battle his 2012 variant during the Time Heist, but Avengers: Secret Wars could bring two Captain Americas together as allies for the first time.

Wesley Snipes’ Blade, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men, Ben Affleck’s Daredevil and Eric Bana or Edward Norton’s Hulk have also been speculated to return. This could see them team up with Mahershala Ali’s Blade, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, respectively. The MCU’s Fantastic Four team could also meet their many multiversal counterparts, including 2005 and 2015’s teams, and John Krasinski’s version of Earth-838’s Mister Fantastic. Only time will tell which of these heroes will return in Avengers: Secret Wars, but the Phase 6 project may feature the largest superhero team ever seen in live-action.
