The founder and chief executive of a leading financial technology (fintech) company, Flutterwave, Mr Gbenga Agboola, has engaged the President of Kenya, Mr William Ruto, on ways to achieve a robust and inclusive financial ecosystem in the East African nation.
The entrepreneur met with Mr Ruto during the latter’s visit to the United States of America (USA) recently.
In a statement made available to Business Post, it was disclosed that the meeting underscores Flutterwave’s dedication to supporting economic advancement in Kenya through cutting-edge financial technology and strategic partnerships.
Mr Agboola expressed his admiration for President Ruto’s vision for Kenya and his commitment to fostering a conducive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.
“Our discussion today has reinforced the critical role that fintech can play in driving sustainable economic growth.
“I am excited about the potential collaborations and the positive impact we can create together in Kenya and Africa,” he was quoted as saying in the statement.
It was learned that the meeting was a significant engagement focused on enhancing economic cooperation and fostering innovation in the fintech sector across Africa.
The parties discussed ways to drive economic growth by exploring strategies to leverage fintech solutions to stimulate economic development in Kenya and the broader East African region.
Also, they talked about innovation and technology by highlighting the role of technological innovation in transforming financial services and improving access to capital for businesses and individuals.
In addition, according to the statement, Mr Ruto and Mr Agboola discussed how the private sector can partner with the government to build a robust and inclusive financial ecosystem while exploring future opportunities for entrepreneurial ventures and investments in Kenya and Africa’s rapidly growing digital economy.
Flutterwave expressed its commitment to its mission of simplifying payments for endless possibilities and creating seamless financial solutions that connect African businesses to the global economy.
