I was earning N4,000 for a lead role in 2014, says actor Lateef Adedimeji

Popular Nollywood actor Abdullateef Adedimeji Adetola, has shared his experience of being underpaid despite playing lead roles in movies.

The Ayinla and โ€˜Jagun Jagunโ€™ star recounted that in 2014, he earned as little as N4,000 for a lead role.

It wasnโ€™t until 2015 that he began receiving between N100,000 and N200,000 per role.

The fantastic act revealed this during a recent episode of the โ€˜Deep Diveโ€™ podcast, hosted by comedian Teju Babyface.

If I tell people that I wasnโ€™t collecting N100,000, N200,000 until 2015/16, a lot of people would not believe me.

โ€œBefore then, the highest I collected for a lead role was either N4,000, N5,000, or N10,000. I was paid that low back in 2014 because it was more like a learning process,โ€ he said.
