Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 will be welcoming Aesha Scott back, this time as the superyacht’s Chief Stew, and I believe she’ll be staying on the series permanently from now on. While Aesha was part of Below Deck Mediterranean in the past, it’s been years since she’s appeared on the Below Deck spin-off. Since her original days on Below Deck Med, Aesha has moved into a new chapter of her career, going from stew to Chief Stew in the ensuing years. Aesha didn’t leave the Below Deck franchise, but instead broadened her horizons working aboard another Below Deck sanctioned superyacht.
After her time on Below Deck Mediterranean seasons 4 and 5, Aesha joined the crew of Below Deck Down Under as Chief Stew, changing her perspective entirely. After working with Captain Jason Chambers and an entirely different crew, Aesha was able to understand her management style and come into her own as a leader aboard a superyacht. Now, with more experience under her belt and a new chapter of life with her fiance Scotty Dobson on the horizon, Aesha is returning to Below Deck Med at an interesting time. I feel it’s likely she’s coming back for a specific reason.
I believe Aesha is coming back to Below Deck Mediterranean for a few reasons, but one of them being that she’s hopeful to be able to prove herself on the show she originally appeared on. While Aesha was an asset during her earlier seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean, things have changed tremendously for the stew in the years since her time working beneath Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier. After having her experiences away from the superyachts on Below Deck Med, Aesha likely feels ready to come back and make her own mark aboard the vessel, especially working beneath Captain Sandy Yawn.
While Aesha worked well on Below Deck Med in the past, we didn’t really get the chance to see her shine until her time on Below Deck Down Under. After working with Captain Sandy and Hannah on Below Deck Med, Aesha was able to cultivate her own style of leadership working beneath Captain Jason. With more freedom and a different style of leadership at the helm of the ship, Aesha was able to extend herself in different directions and see what worked for her as Chief Stew. In learning her leadership style, it’s clear Aesha is ready for a challenge.
With Aesha returning to Below Deck Mediterranean with experience under her belt, the Chief Stew will be unstoppable as she works with the rest of the crew to deliver an exceptional experience for the guests. Though Aesha will surely have some new problems to address working with the crew of a different superyacht, I believe in her skills and abilities to tackle a whole new set of challenges with ease. While Aesha will certainly have to learn as she goes with the new interior crew of Mustique reporting to her, the Below Deck Mediterranean has what it takes to succeed.
