The Former Abia State Accountant General, Gabriel C. Onyendilefu, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Onyendilefu, a House of Representatives aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal in 2018, joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his Ikem Nvosi country home.
He served as the Accountant General of Abia State during the administrations of Theodore Orji and former governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.
In an interview on why he joined the APC, the former accountant general said, “There seems to be no better alternative than the need to participate in national politics.
“I think it is a better option. We have suffered playing regional and state politics.”
The defection of the former Speaker of the state’s 7th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, to the APC, followed by Onyendilefu and others, has made the APC the most sought-after party in the state.
The immediate past chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, Hon. Ikechukwu Anyatonwu, has also defected to APC.
