The Edo State chapter of Labour Party (LP) has ratified the suspension of Mr. Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the party.
The chairman of LP in the State, Mr. Kelly Ogbaloi, who stated this Friday night said the decision was taken following the embattled chairman’s suspension by his Ward 3, in Uromi, Esan North East local government area of Edo state.
According to him, “the State Executive Council had no choice but to endorse the suspension which was also ratified by the party’s executive council in Esan North East local government area of the State.”
Abure’s suspension from the LP was conveyed in a letter dated May 14, 2024 by the Ward 3 chairman, Mr. Thompson Ehiguese.
The letter which was addressed to Abure noted that the decision was reached after a rigorous deliberation of his high handedness and anti-party activities and allegations of fraud levelled against him.
It further stated, “While the suspension is with immediate effect, you are advised to refrain from holding out or parading yourself as a member of Labour Party, Ward 3, Arue, Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.”
