Mac Allister joined Liverpool from Brighton last summer and has been a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s team this season.
The 25-year-old Argentine has adapted well to various midfield roles, scoring five goals and providing five assists in the Premier League, including a notable goal against Fulham.
Recent reports suggest La Liga giants Real Madrid are interested in Mac Allister as a replacement for the retiring Toni Kroos. The Argentine reportedly has a £60 million release clause in his contract.
While on international duty with Argentina, Mac Allister spoke to ESPN about the speculation.
“I’m not talking about assumptions, I’m very happy with Liverpool,” he said.
“I think it was a good season individually, then we had some objectives that we couldn’t meet, but even so I think it was a very good season.”
Mac Allister has been named in Argentina’s 29-man provisional squad for the upcoming Copa America.
