The United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority is in discussion with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority over safety violation concerns of Air Peace.
The UK authorities reportedly wrote the NCAA on the development.
Air Peace commenced operations at Gatwick Airport in Londo from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, under the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA).
The airline sparked a price war after crashing tickets to less than N1.2m naira while a Return Business Class Ticket sold for N4m.
However, the UK authorities accused the Nigerian flag-bearer of violating some aviation safety regulations.
The UK aviation authority notified the NCAA of two mandatory incident reports on Air Peace which the airline allegedy failed, according to the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority.
The CAA’s letter to NCAA was titled, ”United Kingdom SAFA Ramp Inspection Report with reference number: CAA-UK, -2024-0217” and ”NATS Management System Safety Report.”

ccording to the report, the NCAA wrote Air Peace in a letter with reference number: NCAA/DOLTS/APL/Vol.11/03624 and titled, “United Kingdom SAFA Ramp Inspection Report.
According to the letter signed by NCAA General Manager of Operations, Capt. O.O. Lawani, UK CAA accused Air Peace of lacking operational approval of Electronic Flight Bag functions affecting the safe operation of the aircraft.
The UK CAA alleged that the captain of the flight admitted that an Electronic Flight Bag was being used for navigational purposes.
NCAA quoted the CAA as saying, “no mounting device for the use of EFB, no charging points or battery for backup.”
