Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Tony Ojukwu, has sought improved working conditions for workers.In a statement to commemorate the 2024 International Workers Day, globally themed, โClimate change, safety and Health at work place,โ he recognised the reshaping of societies and economies by workers globally.

Ojukwu said the occasion underscores the resilience, dedication and sacrifice of Nigerian workers in the face of the unprecedented high cost of living in the country.
ย โThe NHRC remains unwavering in its commitment to advocating for the rights of all Nigerians, including workers,โ he stated. Director, Corporate Affairs and External Linkages, Obinna Nwakonye, quoted Ojukwu as saying that the commission is dedicated to creating a comfortable environment where all workers would be treated with respect and dignity.
SIMILARLY, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has praised workers for their resilience and doggedness for a better Nigeria.
