Carrie-Anne Moss has joined the cast of Fubar season 2. Fubar is an Arnold Schwarzenegger action-comedy about a C.I.A. operative who is about to retire, only to discover a family secret that launches him back into his work for a final job. Fubar season 1 premiered in 2023 on Netflix, and features a leading cast including Schwarzenegger, Monica Barbaro, Milan Carter, and Gabriel Luna. Season 2 of Fubar is now in development.
As per Variety, Moss has been cast in Fubar season 2. According to the report, this character, whose name has not yet been revealed, has a “passionate” history with Schwarzenegger’s Luke Brenner. Moss will enter Fubar season 2 alongside the returning leading cast including Schwarzenegger, Barbaro, Carter, Fortune Feimster, Travis van Winkle, Jay Baruchel, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley, Fabiana Udenio, and Barbara Eve Harris.
Moss is best known for her work playing Trinity in The Matrix. The actress debuted the role in the original 1999 The Matrix film, later reprising the role in sequels including The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, and The Matrix Resurrections. She is also known for playing the character Natalie in Christopher Nolan’s breakout film Memento. Other roles of hers include parts in Pompeii, Compulsion, and Iron Fist, as well as voice acting for The Matrix video games and the sci-fi video game classic Mass Effect 3.
Moss’s past roles well-prepare her for her upcoming work in Fubar. The Matrix movies prepare her for a large-scale action plot such as that of the Schwarzenegger show. Furthermore, the description of her Fubar character implies that Moss’s character will have some degree of sexual tension with Luke Brenner in the series. She also played a character with substantial sexual tension — and who, like a spy, was deceptive — in Memento. Thus, these roles will make her well-prepared to take on one of the lead parts in Fubar.

As a notable actress herself, Moss’s part in the Netflix series will also likely elevate Fubar as it enters season 2. Fubar season 1 received mixed reviews upon its 2023 release. It has a 50% Tomatometer with 58 reviews. Among audiences, the show scored a slightly-higher 68%. With Moss added to the cast, the profile of Fubar has just increased, which will hopefully come along with an increased quality for the Netflix show’s sophomore effort.
