The Rumored Next PS5 Game Coming To Steam Is One Of 2022's Biggest Hits

God of War: Ragnarok may have impressed PlayStation 5 fans back in 2022 but if rumors are to be believed then the excellent action RPG is set to soon make a big splash on an entirely different platform. In a move that’s helped to bring some of its most popular titles to audiences that may have otherwise been unable to play them, Sony has made an effort to port over many of its previously console-exclusive titles to PC. With hits like the Horizon franchise and Marvel’s Spider-Man, it only stands to reason that Kratos and Atreus return.

Per GamesRadar+, according to reputable leaker billbil-kun, who has previously correctly predicted several PlayStation Plus titles, God of War: Ragnarok is “one of the next PlayStation exclusive titles” to arrive on PC. Although the source doesn’t mention a specific release date or even a window, it would be a relatively safe bet to assume that, if the report is accurate, Ragnarok will debut on PC at some point in 2024. It would need to be after the PC release of Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, which originally launched on PS5 in 2021.

God of War: Ragnarok’s arrival on PC would also make sense given that it would have been nearly two and half years since the first game in the Norse saga made the jump from PlayStation in 2022. While not a consistent trend, Sony does tend to wait at least two years after releasing a PlayStation 5 exclusive before porting over to PC. A similar process happened with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Horizon: Forbidden West, both of which originally launched two years before their respective debuts on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In any case, the PC community will likely welcome God of War: Ragnarok with open arms as the first game to hit Steam proved to be an incredible success, earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating out of over 90,000 reviews. Ragnarok may have also been drowned in praise when it arrived on PlayStation 5 but critics largely agreed that it wasn’t as strong of a title largely due to some pacing issues that managed to interrupt the game’s flow. Despite this, the game was still a commercial success, selling well over 15 million units in the weeks after launch.

Whether or not God of War: Ragnarok does come to PC in the near future, players on Steam and The Epic Games Store have another PlayStation exclusive to anticipate: Ghost of Tsushima. The award-winning open-world arrives on PC on May 16, delighting those who may have missed it back when it first debuted on the PS4 in 2020. This version of the game also includes the Iki Island expansion, as well as some unique in-game cosmetics.
