Popular Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has expressed that Timi Dakolo’s song, “Great Nation,” would have been a more fitting national anthem than the old one to which the country has reverted.
Recall that on the 29th of May, 2024, President Bola Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law, reinstating the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”
In response to this, the father of one questioned why authorities did not consider adopting Timi Dakolo’s “Great Nation” as the new anthem.
Via his X handle he wrote: “No one thought Timi Dakolo’s Great Nation makes a better anthem?”
