Tiwa Savage has stated that enthusiastic fans often compare her to other female artists, suggesting they are vying for her position.
The mother of one emphasized her belief that music is not a competition and expressed her willingness to befriend new female artists rather than engage in rivalry.
The “koroba singer” disclosed these sentiments during a recent interview with BET.
“Fans always try to pit me against other female artists. Any new female artist that comes up, they would be like, ‘Yo, she is coming to take her throne.’
“And I would go out of my way to make friends with them (new female artists) because it is not a competition. The real competition are the male artists. I was happy that Tyla, a female artists won the maiden Best African Music Performance category at the Grammys over the male nominees,” she said.
