Happy Saturday, and happy new Connections day. Another collection of words for fans to group together in random ways. Today’s categories aren’t too hard to get through, but we definitely had a few of the misdirections fool us.
One of the most overlooked aspects of Connections is the provided Shuffle button. It’s an important tool to utilize when you feel stuck. Oftentimes our brains will refuse to let go of an idea, even if it’s wrong. The Shuffle button is a great way to scramble the game up a bit and maybe help you see things from a different perspective.
Before we just go and spoil today’s Connections answers we wanted to provide you with the daily categories. This way if you might be close to solving it yourself this could put you over the top.
Yellow was our first score for the day and it came quite quickly. REWARD and BENEFIT were the two starting words and everything else cascaded from there. FRUIT and PRODUCE tried to give us a little misdirection, but we saw through that real fast.
I am originally from New York, and growing up we always had a fresh bag of bagels ready in the morning. EGG bagel is the absolute best bagel to ever be invented and it’s not even close. POPPY and EVERYTHING actually gave away this category to us and it was easy to find the other two and score the win.
With only eight words left, the blue category really stuck out. We instantly saw all four words when compared to the selection from the purple category. Today’s answers came almost too easy.
There was one moment where we thought FRANK, PLAIN, and DIRECT were a connection, but after we couldn’t find that fourth word we gave up and moved on. We did not, however, guess this actual category. Being the leftover words for today made it a guaranteed win, but the actual connection wasn’t noticed. In the end, we were very happy with this particular category, it’s quite clever.
