Troops of the Nigerian Army have raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Ajegunle Mpape area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) arresting a notorious informant suspect, Ashiru Mohammed known for harbouring kidnappers.
Mohammed was arrested with two female accomplices, Raham Abubakar and Sadiya Mohammed, who were found in possession of one Beretta pistol, one pistol magazine and 21 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
This was disclosed in a post on the X handle of the Nigerian Army, on Friday, May 24.
The Post reads: “In a recent Anti-Kidnap operations based on credible intelligence, troops of the Nigerian Army deployed for internal security duties made significant strides in combating Kidnap activities in the Federal Capital Territory.ย
“In the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, troops onย Thursday 23 May 2024, raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Ajegunle Mpape, targeting a notorious informant known for harbouring kidnappers.ย
“During the operation, the troops apprehended an informantย suspect namedย Ashiru Mohammed with two female accomplices, Raham Abubakar and Sadiya Mohammed.ย
“The suspects were found in possession of one Beretta pistol, one pistol magazine and 21 rounds of 9mm ammunition.ย
“The troops also recovered five ATM cards from different banks, two mobile phonesย and suspectedย illicit drugs. The suspects are currently helping in further investigations.”
