THE Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has noted the commendable efforts of Nigerian Army troops in combating insecurity despite the numerous challenges they have encountered.
Speaking on a special program on Channels Television assessing President Bola Tinubu’s administration after one year, Lagbaja highlighted the improvements in security over the past year.
Reflecting on the progress made and the persistent threats facing the nation, Lagbaja lauded both field troops and headquarters staff for their dedication and effectiveness in challenging circumstances.
He refuted claims of military complicity in insecurity, addressing accusations of partiality towards aggressors by emphasizing the Army’s impartial approach based on professionalism rather than religious or ethnic considerations.
General Lagbaja emphasized that the Army operates without bias, treating individuals as law-abiding citizens unless engaged in combat activities.
He emphasized the military’s commitment to professionalism and fairness in their operations, particularly in regions like the North-East, North-West, and South-East, where significant progress has been made in restoring peace and security.
