Despite only appearing in a single episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 1, famous psychic Allison DuBois left a lasting impression. Overall, Allison’s many iconic readings (even though she was off the clock) and e-cigarettes are still remembered over the years. Allison has kept busy since her iconic appearance on RHOBH.
RHOBH season 1 premiered in 2010 and followed six wealthy women. The main cast consisted of Taylor Armstrong, Camille Grammer, Adrienne Maloof, Kim Richards, Kyle Richards, and Lisa Vanderpump. In one of the best RHOBH episodes of all time, “The Dinner Party From Hell,” Camille hosted a dinner party and invited her psychic friend Allison. She’s the inspiration behind the show Medium and used her psychic powers to let Kyle know that her husband will never emotionally fulfill her. She also added that Kyle is better around men than she is around women, which Kyle denied.
After that reading, the table soon dissolved into chaos, and the women started insulting one another – particularly Camille and Kyle. Most of the other guests began to storm out. The night ended with Allison saying, “I can tell you when [Kyle] will die and what will happen to her family. I love that about me.” Alas, Allison has moved on from RHOBH and has kept busy in recent years. She is still married to her husband, Joe DuBois, after nearly 30 years and is raising three kids with him. The family is living in Phoenix, Arizona, where she was raised.
Allison has also continued her work connecting with the dead, as she has written books and movies and even started her own university. She has written three more books since her RHOBH appearance, the latest one in 2020, about how she has connected her clients to their passed loved ones. According to IMDb, Allison also participated in two documentaries about the afterlife in the past few years. On Allison‘s official website, she created Dead University and offered lessons to help people become mediums. Clearly, Allison still has a thriving career.
Allison is reportedly no longer friends with Camille and does not speak to the other housewives, but the medium has moved on. Allison has an active YouTube channel and hosts a podcast called The Dead Life, where she teaches her listeners about the dead and interviews experts on the afterlife. She uses her spare time to host seminars and conduct live readings when she’s not working on her podcast.
Other than her career, Allison’s personal life is better than ever as well. She and her husband, Joe, recently took a trip to Paris with their daughter, Sophia, for Mother’s Day. Allison began her Paris journey on May 10 and is likely still there with her family. The three of them went to several restaurants and took in the beautiful Parisian scenery.
While it would be entertaining to see Allison return to RHOBH, her return is unlikely. She and Kyle have had several words with each other through the media over the years, and Kyle wouldn’t be too pleased having to interact with her. Now that Kyle and her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, are officially separated, with him even moving out of their Encino mansion, Kyle may not want to hear what Allison has to say. Allison predicted that Kyle and Mauricio would split, which Kyle vehemently denied at the time. Seeing Allison again may anger Kyle.
Even if RHOBH producers wanted her to make a cameo on the show again, Allison likely wouldn’t do it anyway. She no longer has any ties to the cast members, so her presence on the show would be strange. If she did make an appearance, it would be obvious Allison was only there to rile up Kyle.
While Allison won’t come on the show, she did appear on the Behind The Velvet Rope podcast in November 2023, where she said she believes the Kyle and Mauricio separation was “premeditated.” She continued to say, “Canโt you hear them saying, okay this season is boring, we need something […] I think itโs why Mauricio looks so surprised in the last couple of episodes when sheโll push back at him. I think sheโs actually throwing in some of the truth […] she felt unloved for a long time.” Even though Allison no longer has a connection to the show, she remains iconic.
