Hulu’s true crime drama show Under the Bridge is already well underway, with less than half of the season’s episodes remaining before the series finale. Following the streamer’s critically acclaimed true crime shows like Under the Banner of Heaven and The Girl from Plainville, Hulu’s Under the Bridge is based on the true story of Reena Virk’s murder. The tragedy occurred in Canada in 1997 and was highly publicized for its gruesome nature and panic regarding violence among teenage girls. The real crime was then given additional context upon the release of Victoria-raised author Rebecca Godfrey’s 2005 non-fiction book Under the Bridge.
Daisy Jones & the Six’s Riley Keough and Killers of the Flower Moon’s Lily Gladstone lead the cast of Under the Bridge as Rebecca Godfrey and Cam Bentland, respectively, who team up to piece together the mystery and motivations surrounding Reena Virk’s death. Boasting an impressive 84% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, the Hulu-streaming miniseries brings grit and heart to the true story with compelling performances by the teen and adult actors alike. As multiple timelines explore the events leading up to and the aftermath of the tragedy, Under the Bridge’s remaining episodes are building up to a powerful, upsetting finale as the case’s truths are uncovered.
The series finale of Under the Bridge will be released on Hulu on May 29, 2024. Like the previous episodes, Under the Bridge’s finale will begin streaming on Hulu that Wednesday at 12:00 a.m. ET, meaning it will be available to stream at 9 p.m. PT on Tuesday, May 28. As a limited series, Under the Bridge episode 8, “Mercy Alone,” will mark the final episode of the entire TV show. The finale is expected to conclude the full coverage of the criminal case, trial, and aftermath of the sentencing, as well as wrap up the subplots surrounding characters like Cam and Rebecca.
Hulu’s Under the Bridge has eight episodes total, with three more outings remaining after “When the Heat Comes Down.”Under the Bridge episode 5 ended with Dusty hitting Kelly for bragging about killing Reena, with Kelly and Jo then devising a plan to keep Dusty from confessing the truth. With Under the Bridge episode 5 also seeing Cam and Rebecca discover the real identities of Reena’s killers, the show is quickly approaching the timeline of the attackers’ arrests and trials. New episodes of Under the Bridge release weekly on Hulu each Wednesday at 12 a.m. ET.
Although the first two episodes of Under the Bridge dropped simultaneously on April 17, the remaining episodes are all single-episode weekly releases on Hulu. Consequently, there will continue to be one new episode each Wednesday until Under the Bridge’s finale premieres on May 29, 2024. At that point, all eight episodes will be available to stream in full on Hulu.
