Where To See Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes: Showtimes & Streaming Status

The Planet of the Apes franchise is back, and there are different options for where to watch Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The iconic sci-fi franchise was successfully rebooted in 2011 with a new trilogy of films starring Andy Serkis as Caesar. Six years later, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes becomes the fourth installment of this new iteration of the series. The movie continues the new timeline by jumping 300 years after Caesar’s death, introducing new leads in Noa (Owen Teague) and Mae (Freya Allan), as well as a new villain in Proximus Caesar (Kevin Durand).

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes‘ release comes after an excellent marketing campaign highlighting the exceptional VFX work and great work from director Wes Ball. The hype from the trailers and interviews was not misplaced, as the film has largely been praised by those who have seen it. Due to the high costs associated with making a VFX-heavy film like Planet of the Apes, there was never any doubt that Disney and 20th Century would keep the franchise’s next installment in theaters. But, options for where to watch Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will grow over time.

The first opportunity to see Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is through its theatrical release on May 10, 2024. Disney and 20th Century moved the release up two weeks to this date once it became a vacant prime summer release weekend. This positions the movie as a potentially strong box office performer if there is enough interest in and attendance at Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes showtimes around the world. It should help that Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is also playing in IMAX for a limited time.

It is not yet confirmed when Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will be released on streaming. However, it is expected that the movie will stream on Disney Plus or Hulu when that time comes. The safer bet is that Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will stream on Hulu since that is where the three modern Planet of the Apes movies are streaming. As for when that will happen, Disney and 20th Century wait around 90 days on average after a film’s theatrical debut to move it to streaming. That would make a projected Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes streaming release of August 2024.

Those wanting to watch Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes at home will have another option to do so through its digital release. Disney and 20th Century have not confirmed when this will happen, but the movie will be made available on most major PVOD services to buy or rent. The studios’ average wait time between theatrical and digital releases is roughly 60 days. This projects Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes to be released on digital in July 2024. This should not change too much regardless of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes‘ box office performance.
