Adamawa Police Arrests Two Suspected Kidnappers With Multiple Sim Cards

Two suspected members of a notorious kidnapping gang operating in Taraba state and some parts of Adamawa State, have been arrested by the Adamawa police operatives attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID) in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba, over kidnap threats received by a victim.

The Adamawa State Police spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje in a press statement shared with NewsNGR, gave the names of the suspects as Abuchi G. Ayogo 32 years and David Francis 33 years.

He said both suspects are residents of Garin Gidado Village, Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State.

According to Nguroje, the Command received a report on 28th May 2024, from one Kinsley Eze, a resident of Gurin, in Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa, alleging that he received several calls from unknown subscribers threatening to kidnap and Kill him if he failed to send them the sum of N3m.

โ€œThe Operatives of the Command immediately commenced investigation leading to the arrest of two suspects involved in the kidnap, kill and unlawful demands.

โ€œInterestingly, both of them confessed to committing the crime, adding that they are part of a notorious kidnapping gang operating in Taraba and part of Adamawa State,โ€ the spokesman said.

He explained that a significant number of sim cards of various GSM networks and handsets were recovered from them, adding that the items were treated as exhibits.

Nguroje also said the arrest of these two suspected kidnappers underscores the unwavering commitment of the command in eradicating all forms of criminal activities and instilling confidence in the residents of the state.

โ€œThe Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, while assuring that the suspects would be diligently prosecuted, encouraged members of the public to remain vigilant and always provide useful and timely information to security agencies on any suspicious activities in their communities,โ€ the spokesman said.
