Enzo Maresca takes over as Chelsea head coach

Chelsea has announced Enzo Maresca as their new head coach, replacing Mauricio Pochettino. The 44-year-old Italian joins from Leicester City, where he led the team to promotion by winning the Championship.

Maresca has signed a five-year contract, with the option to extend for another year. He was chosen over candidates like Brentfordโ€™s Thomas Frank, Ipswichโ€™s Kieran McKenna, and Roberto De Zerbi, who recently left Brighton.

Chelseaโ€™s co-sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said, โ€œWe are excited to welcome Enzo to Chelsea. He has shown he can achieve great results with a clear style. His ambitions match ours, and we look forward to working with him.โ€

Maresca expressed his excitement, saying, โ€œJoining Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, is a dream for any coach. I look forward to working with the talented players and staff here to continue the clubโ€™s success and make our fans proud.โ€

Marescaโ€™s successful run with Leicester has raised expectations, and Chelsea fans are eager to see how he will lead the team.
