Federation Cup: Kano Pillars vs 3SC headlines quarter-final clashes

NIGERIA Premier Football League clubs Kano Pillars and Shooting Stars Sports Club, also known as 3SC, will do battle today in the biggest quarter-final fixture of the President Federation Cup.

The two top flight sides will clash at the Area 3 pitch in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja for a spot in the semi-finals.

Going by current form, 3SC are the favourites as they are fourth in the NPFL table, six places and nine points above Pillars, but the Cup does not respect form or league placing.

The other NPFL side in the quarter-finals, Abia Warriors, will tackle giant killers Sokoto United at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project field inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium Complex, also in Abuja.

Sokoto United eliminated two-time CAF Champions League winners and NPFL champions Enyimba in the round of 16.

El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will face surprise packets Inter Lagos at the FCT-Bwari ground, while two surprise qualifiers, EFFC FC and Kebbi United, go to battle at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

All the matches kick off at 4pm today.
