JUST IN: Tinubu Travels To South Africa For Ramaphosa’s Inauguration

President Bola Tinubu will depart Nigeria on Tuesday from Lagos for Pretoria, South Africa, to attend the inauguration of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

He said “President Tinubu will return to Nigeria after the ceremony.”

The terse statement said the inauguration of President Ramaphosa follows his re-election as President for a second term.

The president had earlier congratulated his South African counterpart over his re-election.

Ramaphosa was reelected by the parliament following a coalition deal between the governing African National Congress (ANC) and opposition parties.

The new administration comprises Ramaphosa’s ANC, the Democratic Alliance (DA), the main opposition, and other parties.

This will be the first time the ANC would be entering into a coalition to stay in power since forming a national government 30 years ago immediately at the end of apartheid.
