THE Court of Appeal in Abuja has refused to overturn the dismissal of Martins Chike Amaewhule and 26 other Rivers State House of Assembly members.
In a ruling issued virtually today, the Appellate Court stated that issuing a verdict reversing the decision of a Federal High Court that declared their seats vacant would constitute to pre-judging the appeal currently before it.
The three-member tribunal also set June 20 as the date to hear Amaewhule and othersโ plea to reclaim their seats in the State House of Assembly.
The justices urged all parties involved in the case to maintain the status quo and refrain from engaging in any form of hostility until the matter was heard and concluded.
