RIVERS: Police call for calm, says investigation ongoing over explosion

THE Rivers State Police Command has stated that it is currently investigating the explosion incident that occurred on June 25th at Aba Road, opposite Hotel Presidential adding that one person has been linked to the explosion.

This was revealed yesterday in statement by the commandโ€™s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, who revealed that the incident that occurred in front of the Presidential Hotel is being thoroughly investigated by the police and every help they can get will be appreciated.

The command stated that efforts are underway to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the occurrence, with the safety and security of all residents and visitors in Rivers State being of utmost importance.

The command further extended its gratitude to the public for their assistance, including providing information, pictures, and videos to aid in the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police also urged individuals to evacuate any area where a suspicious object is spotted and immediately notify the authorities.

He added that relevant information are being gathered to shed light on the situation, and updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.

The Rivers State Police Command maintained that it is dedicated to upholding law and order in the state, and urged cooperation from residents and visitors in reporting any suspicious activities or information related to the incident.
