PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu stated at the North-West Peace and Security Summit in Katsina that the efforts of security forces in the fight against insecurity in the North-West have been successful in disrupting and dismantling criminal networks.
Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, reassured Nigerians that the government is committed to creating a safer environment for all citizens.
He highlighted military’s operations such as Operation Hadin Kai and Operation Safe Haven, which have targeted Boko Haram and bandits groups.
Tinubu emphasized that government’s strategies in combating insecurity with a focus on collaboration among security agencies in the North-West are yielding positive results.
He mentioned the importance of adhering to guidelines, standard operating procedures, and rules of engagement in the fight against insurgents.
The President added that the government is coordinating joint training exercises, inter-agency cooperation, communication, and information sharing among security agencies.
Dignitaries present at the summit included former President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Dikko Radda, Minister of Defence Muhammad Badaru, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and other North-West governors.
