Controversial singer Portable claims Nigeria is okay, urges protesters to ‘hustle’

Popular Nigerian singer Portable has expressed his opinions on the upcoming nationwide protest.

Reports indicate that various groups are organizing a protest from 1st of August to 10th to express their dissatisfaction with the country’s economic hardships, particularly the rising cost of living.

In a post on his Instagram story, the singer stated that there is no need for the protest, claiming, “Nigeria is okay.”

He suggested that those planning to protest are “jobless” and should focus on fighting for themselves rather than for Nigeria.

Portable emphasized that he would not be participating in the protest.

“It won’t be well with anyone who tells me to perform during the protest. Don’t you have a producer too, you should collect the mic and join the protest too,” he said.

He continued, “Please I need money, I’m hustling. If you take your job seriously, you won’t join the protest. Fight for yourself, don’t fight for Nigeria. Nigeria is okay, you are the one who is not okay.

There is money in some places, you are the one who didn’t hustle. You are the one who is not loyal to your helper.”
