Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has reassured citizens of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to addressing the nation’s economic challenges.
During a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, on Tuesday, the First Lady emphasized her husband’s deep love for Nigerians despite the ongoing economic hardship.
In a statement by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, Oluremi Tinubu expressed confidence in the President’s ability to improve the country’s situation.
“I assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do well for this country. He loves Nigeria, he loves Nigerians and will do the best for them,” she stated.
Oba Akiolu echoed this sentiment, calling on Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu administration.
“All that I am saying and appealing is that we should pray for Nigeria and the president. We should be patient. Everything good needs prayers,” the Oba said.
This appeal for patience and support comes as Nigerians face high levels of headline and food inflation, which stood at 34.19 percent and 40.87 percent, respectively.
The increasing inflation rates have significantly reduced the purchasing power of citizens, leading to widespread hardship and hunger.
The First Lady’s visit and reassurances are seen as an attempt to bolster public confidence in the government’s efforts to stabilize the economy and improve living conditions for all Nigerians.
