Handover Yahaya Bello To EFCC To Face Corruption Trial – Adeyanju Tells Gov Ododo

Popular activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has called on Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State to hand over his predecessor, Yahaya Bello to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission or EFCC, for trial.

Adeyanju stated this on Sunday in a post he shared on social media.

Bello who anointed Ododo as his successor has been in hiding since the EFCC stormed his Abuja home to arrest him to answer questions bordering on corruption.

He’s allegedly being protected and holed at the Kogi State government residence in Lokoja, sources have said.

Ododo who drove into his predecessor’s house when the EFCC surrounded the premises and whisked him away has offered no explanation for his actions. He has also said nothing about his whereabouts.

Bello, who staged an unsuccessful bid to get the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress or APC has tried to fight his troubles with the EFCC praying the federal high court in Abuja to move his trial to Kogi State.

Justice John Tsoho, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court dismissed the application and upheld the argument of the EFCC, ruling that the case should remain in Abuja.

Adeyanju however lambasted the governor advising that he should immediately handover the fleeing ex-governor to the anti-graft agency.

“Ododo, the impunity-loving governor of Kogi State should hand over Yahaya Bello to the EFCC to face trial for all his corrupt acts,” Adeyanju said.
