Armed Men have reportedly kidnapped former Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Joan Mrakpor, killing two of his police orderlies in the process.
A few others were also injured during the attack that happened about 4pm on Tuesday, reports say.
The attack reportedly took place when the kidnapped victim went to a church where she used to worship called ‘Jesus and 1’, off DBS Road in Asaba.
She was reportedly ambushed at the church premises while the attackers shot indiscriminately to scare away people before kidnapping her.
Reports say the deceased had just resigned from the current government in order to support her younger brother’s bid for the chairmanship of Aniocha South Local Government Council.
She was reportedly forced out of government following protest that she should not hold a cabinet position while the brother chairs a local government.
The Delta State Police command has not reacted to the development.
