GOVERNOR Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved the appointment of the second-class emirs of Gaya, Karaye and Rano Emirates.
Director General, Media and Publicity to the governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Kano.
Alhaji Muhammad Maharaz Karaye was named as the Emir of Karaye. Until his appointment, he was District Head of Rogo.
Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umar was named as the Emir of Rano.ย Until his appointment, Umar was the district head of Bunkure.
Meanwhile, the deposed Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir Gaya, was reinstated as Emir of Gaya.
Unlike other deposed Emirs, Abdulkadir accepted his fate and expressed willingness to work in any capacity after his deposition was announced.
The governor congratulated the newly appointed emirs and enjoined them to be the custodians of culture , peace and unity of the people in their respective Emirates.
The statement said all the appointments were with immediate effect.
