The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) of Operation Lake Sanity 2 has reported significant achievements in its recent operations, neutralizing around 70 terrorists and dismantling their camps across the Cameroonian and Nigerian territories of Lake Chad.
In a statement released on Monday, Chief Military Public Information Officer HQ MNJTF Ndjamena-Chad, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, detailed the success of these operations, which also saw the destruction of 8 vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) in Arinna ciki and 2 ammunition bunkers northeast of Malam Fatori.
โIn a swift and decisive response, Sector 2, with the support of the Chadian Rapid Intervention Force, delivered a devastating blow to the retreating terrorists. This action neutralized 70 terrorists and dismantled 5 camps, highlighting the efficacy of MNJTFโs operational strategies and the robust collaboration with the Chadian Armed Forces,โ Abdullahi stated.
The MNJTF expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support from the Chadian Armed Forces, as well as other troop-contributing countries, including Operation Emergence 4 from Cameroon, Operation Hadin Kai from Nigeria, and Sector 4 from Niger.
These collaborations were instrumental in the success of Operation Lake Sanity 2.
The statement reaffirmed the MNJTFโs commitment to eradicating terrorism and restoring peace to the Lake Chad Basin.
