Popular disc jockey Florence Otedola, also known as DJ Cuppy, has expressed pride in Nigerian afrobeats stars Asake, Rema, Ruger, and Shallipopi following their recent debut at the UK’s Wireless Festival.
Reports indicate that the Nigerian afrobeats quartet thrilled attendees on various dates of the 2024 Wireless Festival in London.
The DJ and “Gelato” Artist who also performed at the festival, took to social media to congratulate and praise Rema, Asake, Ruger, and Shallipopi for their outstanding performances.
Via her X account she wrote: “I have to hail all my brothers o! Congrats to @asakemusik, @heisrema, @shallipopi_, and @rugerofficial for their stellar performances at #WirelessFestival.
“Proud to see our Naij boys shining on the global stage. Carry last for wherrrreeee?!”
Recall that recently, Ayra Starr and Burna Boy made history as the first African artists to perform on the main stage of Glastonbury, the UK’s most popular festival.
Additionally, British band Coldplay brought out the veteran Nigerian afrobeat musician Femi Kuti during their Glastonbury performance.
