The new Director General of the Service, Adeola Ajayi has pledged professionalism and refocusing of the service after officially taking over on Wednesday.
Ajayi had assumed office on Wednesday, where he was welcomed by the outgoing DG, Alhaji Yusuf Bichi.
Addressing the staff of the Service, Ajayi โpledged to refocus the Service towards converts and likelihood of studied silence over certain matters.โ
A statement signed by the spokesperson of the Service, on Thursday, captured the new DGโs assurance to work with relevant stakeholders with commitment to confronting Nigeriaโs economic, political and security environments.
โThe objective, according to him, is to achieve the peace and stability necessary for development.
โWhile the outgone DG urged all to cooperate with the new one to enable him succeed in the task ahead, Mr Ajayi harped on unity of purpose among staff and enjoined them to remain disciplined and professional in the discharge of their duties,โ the statement said.
The highlight of the occasion was the handing over of the Service flag and other insignias of office by the former DG to the new one.
Afterwards, Ajayi took a tour of the National Headquarters during which he visited some sections and encouraged staff on duty to remain vigilant, resourceful, dedicated and loyal to the Service, constituted authorities and Nigeria at large.
