APC Crisis: Okocha Playing Wike’s Destabilising Script In Rivers – Emeka Beke

The reinstated Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress or APC, Mr Emeka Beke, has accused the former Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party in the state, Mr Tony Okocha, of playing the script of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in the state.

Featuring on Arise TV morning Show, Beke, who was reinstated by the Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on Monday alleged that Okocha was playing Wike’s script even as he’s not a member of the APC.

Recall the Rivers Court had dismissed the Okocha-led committee appointed by the National Working Committee of the APC in Abuja.

Justice Sika Aprioku, in a ruling on a suit filed by Sam Sam Etetegwung, Banarth Ezemoye, Ezekiel Ubom, and others on behalf of the APC executive in the state, reinstated the executive led by Beke as the legitimate leadership of the party in Rivers State.

Speaking, Beke said, “I have taken over the leadership of the party in the state and will ensure I stabilise the party.

“Tony Okocha is playing Wike’s script, he’s not a member of our party.

“My name is Emeka Beke, and I still remain the Chairman of APC in Rivers State, IPAC is meeting today and I will attend as chairman of the party.

“My position is that the governor should be allowed to govern and I will extend a hand of fellowship and an olive branch to all aggrieved members.”

The reinstated Chairman also gave a condition to work with the governor of the state, Sim Fubara.

He however said there’s no link between the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi who was minister under the APC and Fubara of the PDP.

He said, “I worked with Rotimi Amaechi and he is my leader, and he has no link with Fubara.

“If he extends a hand of fellowship to APC, we will work with him and develop the state. We can’t continue fighting; Rivers is going backwards.

“You can’t have two governors in one state, even if your own son is made governor, you should allow him to function.

“We have finished the politicking; it’s now time for governance.”
