Bayelsa Gov Urges FG to Prioritize Gas Plant, Brass Fertilizer Project

Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has called on the Federal Government to expedite the establishment of a gas plant and the commencement of the Brass Fertilizer Plant in the state.

Governor Diriโ€™s appeal, voiced through Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, underscores the potential economic benefits these projects could bring, including significant job creation for unemployed youths in Bayelsa and surrounding regions.

The appeal was made during a meeting with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ekperikpe Ekpo, at the Government House in Yenagoa on Wednesday.

The Deputy Governor emphasized the urgency of these developments, highlighting their potential to transform the local economy and provide much-needed employment opportunities.

Minister Ekpo, who was in Bayelsa to engage with key stakeholders at the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), reaffirmed the federal governmentโ€™s commitment to unlocking the full potential of the gas sector for the benefit of all Nigerians.

He acknowledged the importance of these projects and assured that the federal government is focused on advancing initiatives that support economic growth and development in the region.
