English Premier League side, Chelsea FC, have moved on from their long-term pursuit of Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen, by securing a personal agreement with Samu Omorodion, who is of Nigerian descent, Soccernet.ng reports.ย
The Super Eagles star has been on Chelseaโs radar since the start of the summer transfer window, with the club looking to boost their attacking lineup for the next season.
However, the transfer tussle between Osimhenโs camp and Chelsea has become increasingly unrealistic, with the club unable to meet Napoliโs price tag for Osimhen and the 25-year-oldโs reluctance to move to Chelsea on loan.
In light of these developments, Chelsea have turned their attention to Spanish striker Omorodion and have agreed on personal terms with him.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea are set to finalize the signing of Samu Omorodion, with the player agreeing to a seven-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.
